Hilary Duff is headed Down Under to star opposite upcoming actor Liam Aiken for the flick “The Emancipation of Jonny“.
The movie focuses on the life of a teenager who is stuck at a crucial point in his life, where he has to strike a balance between his dreams and reality.
Based on the true-life of 16 year-old director, Jonathan Nguyen,
Jonathan Tyler (Aiken) struggles to live an ideal teenage life as he tries to juggle between his own desires and his parent’s expectations.
Hilary plays Piki Little,an 18 year old tourist from New Zealand. After a few meetings between the two,they realise that they share the same dreams and so, decide to journey together on and fulfil them.
The movie is set to herald a huge improvement in Duff’s growth as far as her acting is concerned.
“The film is a heart-felt, emotional drama; one in which will be Hilary Duff’s most engaging yet - her metamorphosis from amateur to ‘Golden Globe nominated’ worthy actress, ” a source was quoted by Moviehole, as saying.
The film is in pre production and shooting will commence in Australia in late 2007.
