Hilary Duff thanked a team of firefighters for raising £13,000 for their New York counterparts, when she visited a fire station in London yesterday.

The team raised money for firefighters based in New York who were affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The 19-year-old singer and actress stopped at Soho Fire Station to personally show her appreciation for the firefighters’ fundraising efforts.

A source said: ‘She was there to thank the boys for their efforts in raising £13,000 for a fire station in New York they are twinned with, Ladder 20 in the SoHo area of the Big Apple.’

The number of New York firefighters that died as they attempted to rescue victims of the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center reached 343.

Hilary Duff has hit out at socialite Paris Hilton for her attention-grabbing antics.

Duff, whose ex-boyfriend Joel Madden is dating Hilton’s pal Nicole Richie, is less than impressed by the blonde party girl’s publicity stunts, which include being photographed panty-less.

She fumes, “Paris brings attention to herself. Some people do things on a night out they know will get talked about.”

Hilary Duff lived out a fantasy on her trip to London last week - by learning to make kebabs.

The Wake Up hitmaker, 19, is currently promoting her latest album Dignity in the UK and was thrilled when TV show Popworld offered her the opportunity to make the Middle Eastern meat treat.

Duff joined show host Alexa Chung in a Lebanese kebab takeaway in central London for a crash course in kebab-making.

She says, “I love eating different meat sandwiches all over the world and especially kebabs.

“I always wanted to learn how to make them. I liked cutting the meat the best, that was really fun.

“You get so hot cutting it though that you’d never need to wear blush!”

Hilary Duff apparently slams ex-lover Joel Madden and his girlfriend Nicole Richie on her new album.

In the title track of ‘Dignity’, the blonde singer appears to attack the couple who began dating soon after the Good Charlotte frontman split from Hilary.

The song lyrics apparently say: “Where’s your dignity? I think you lost it in the Hollywood Hills. Can’t buy respect but you can pick up that bill. Always with Mr. Right, but then you have a fight. Run into your friend’s ex, he’s happy to be your next. Tomorrow’s paper’s coming out so kiss him fast, watch the cameras flash.”

Hilary, who dated Joel for two years, is also said to slate Nicole on track ‘Gypsy Woman’ - branding ‘The Simple Life’ star “sick” and “shameless”.

The lyrics read: “She lets you think that you found her first. That’s how she works her sick and twisted gypsy curse. Talks with a grin ’cause she’s got no shame. Enjoy the fame, bringing down the family name.”

Joel and Nicole are not the only ones on the end of a verbal attack from the 19-year-old singer.

In ‘Dreamer’, Hilary seemingly condemns the man who was jailed in January for stalking her.

Hilary allegedly sings: “Don’t you have better things to do with your life. Than hang around and stare at me and complicate mine?”
